Important Dates & Deadlines For Vendors

  • Sept. 16        Registration ends (fees must be paid in full)
  • Sept. 16        Paper and poster proposals due
  • Sept. 21        Items for conference bag due to Longway (Galaxy level and above)
  • Oct. 12          Fulldome content due (pre-sliced and encoded) to Brian W., 1310 E. Kearsley Street, Flint, MI 48503. See general information below for more details.
  • Oct. 12          Last date to cancel registration
  • Oct. 13          Electronic copies of papers and posters due to Proceedings Editor
  • Oct. 17–19     Vendor equipment set-up in dome (must be scheduled by host)
  • Oct. 19          Vendor exhibit hall set-up (9:00am–3:00pm)
 
New and/or Different This Year For Vendors
  • All vendor exhibit space will be adjacent to planetarium theater
  • No center pit in planetarium theater
  • Promotional item may be included in delegate bag (3 highest support levels only)
  • 1 ¾ hours of plenary exhibit hall viewing time
  • Vendor Hall will be closed during meals so vendors can eat with delegates.

Sloan*Longway Planetarium Technical Specifications

  • 16 meter dome
  • Astro-Tec Ultimate Seam dome, at a 7 degree tilt
  • 5 degree floor tilt
  • 4k Digistar 5 system
  • ChromaCove Medium-Power RGBW cove lighting system
  • 2 cove-mounted Christie Boxer projectors (30,000 lumens each)
  • 7.1 surround sound with 7 Danley speakers and 2 Danley subwoofers
  • 129 pneumatically reclining Figueras “Megaseats” in a unidirectional pattern
  • No center pit

 

General Vendor Information

  • 5,300 sq ft vendor exhibit space located in planetarium lobby
  • 5 hr plenary vendor demonstration time. Time slots to be filled on a first-to-register-and-pay basis. See Vendor Chart for this year’s sponsorship levels
  • 1 ¾ hr dedicated vendor hall viewing
  • Slots available (first-to-register-and-pay) for non-plenary full show screening on Wednesday and Thursday (10:15pm–12:00am)
  • Fulldome content must be pre-sliced and encoded on a Sony north/south configuration, 8 channels (not including host). Video files must be in a .mpg container with the MPEG-2 encoding. Must arrive at Longway by Oct. 12. Mail directly to: Brian W., 1310 E. Kearsley Street, Flint, MI 48503
  • 2 rooms (5x20 ft each) available for storage; larger items may have to be stored in the museum across the street
  • Galaxy level and above sponsors may place an item in conference bags
