Mentor Award: Deadline Vernal Equinox

The GLPA Mentor Award honors those who have spent great effort and countless hours on mentoring the next generation of planetarium professionals, scientists and science educators.

Anyone may nominate a candidate by submitting an application and supporting documentation to the Membership Chair. The Executive Committee may nominate candidates and award this status at its discretion. Nominees may not be self-nominated. Nominations will be kept on file for 3 consecutive years for future consideration.

 

Qualifications:

  • Former or current member in good standing of GLPA for 5 or more consecutive years.
  • Shall adhere to the GLPA Code of Ethics for the Planetarium Profession.
  • Shall have nurtured others interest in the planetarium profession, research science, science education and/or educational non-profit operation.
  • Shall have provided opportunities to learn the planetarium profession through direct experience with the operation and use of a planetarium.
  • Shall have provided opportunities for others to experience and interact with the planetarium community, including participation in GLPA and State Organization meetings.
